DSH GmbH featured in the latest issue of "GROHE Architekturlösungen*"
The hotel market is undergoing a transformation. Topics such as sustainability, revitalization, and resource efficiency are becoming increasingly important – especially in the area of hotel interior design. The new issue of the magazine GROHE Architekturlösungen* is dedicated to this transformation and presents an innovative model project from our Berlin-based general contractor.
Rethinking the Existing
The trend is clear: Instead of new constructions, more and more hotels are being created through the revitalization or conversion of existing buildings. Rising construction costs, stricter energy standards, and growing sustainability demands are driving this shift. As a result, interior construction is taking on a new role – as a key factor in creating energy-efficient and future-ready hotel concepts.
Model Project in Berlin
With our long-stay apartment in Berlin-Mitte, we demonstrated how comfort, design, and ecological responsibility can be combined. The apartment was furnished with materials that are low-emission, durable, or recyclable – meaning they can be returned to the economic cycle.
Clay plaster walls ensure a natural indoor climate, emission-free flooring can be removed without leaving residue, and high-quality sanitary solutions from GROHE support resource-efficient operation.
Sustainability that pays off
Our goal was to demonstrate that sustainable construction in interior design doesn't necessarily have to be more expensive. When materials are reused or taken back by the manufacturer, disposal costs are reduced – and the quality of the living and indoor climate increases at the same time. The result is a forward-thinking concept that unites ecological, aesthetic, and economic aspects.
Responsibility in Hotel Interior Construction
As a Berlin-based general contractor with decades of experience in high-quality hotel interior design, we don't see sustainability as a trend, but rather as part of our philosophy. For us, it means consciously selecting materials, optimizing processes, and planning construction projects to ensure they last long-term – for managers, guests, and the environment alike.
Looking ahead
The "EcoStay" project demonstrates that the hotel industry is in an exciting phase of transformation. Those who invest in quality, durability, and resource efficiency today are actively shaping the future of this industry.
