Overview of our projects

Refurbishment within a Historic Building

Located in the heart of the Black Forest, Hotel Therme Bad Teinach looks back on a history spanning several centuries. As early as the 17th and 18th centuries, the famous thermal spring attracted members of the nobility and notable figures from across Europe. Over time, the former spa complex developed into a renowned four-star hotel that today seamlessly combines historic architecture with contemporary comfort.

As part of the comprehensive modernization of selected areas of the building, we were commissioned to support and implement the project within this sensitive historic context.

Project Scope and Services Provided

Our scope of work included the refurbishment of key bathroom and guestroom areas in the hotel’s main building. Across the upper floors, a total of 16 bathrooms were completely renovated. In addition, we carried out drywall construction and painting work in 16 guestrooms, in the corridors and within the library area.

A central component of the project was the complete strip-out of the affected areas, which also fell under our responsibility. This created the basis for restructuring the spaces — including the construction of new walls and ceilings, even in locations where none had previously existed.

Key Challenges and Project Particularities

The main challenge lay in the complete reorganization of the existing spatial structures. Following demolition works, new walls and ceilings were installed, in some cases in areas that had previously lacked clearly defined room layouts. This required precise coordination between design, execution and the technical trades involved.

At the same time, it was essential to respect the building’s historic character and to integrate the new bathroom and spatial concepts harmoniously into the existing architecture. The works were carried out in a demanding environment in which quality, adherence to schedules and a sensitive approach to the existing substance were of paramount importance.

Materials and Execution

High-quality, durable materials and meticulous craftsmanship were central to the implementation. The newly created bathrooms combine functional clarity with a timeless, elegant design; selected natural stone surfaces further emphasize the premium character of the interiors. The overall concept meets the expectations of a modern four-star hotel while blending discreetly into the historic surroundings.

A Project Between Tradition and Modernity

Hotel Therme Bad Teinach exemplifies the sophisticated approach required when working with existing hotel buildings. The refurbishment demonstrates how historic architecture can be carefully developed through targeted interventions without compromising its distinctive character.

We would like to thank our client for the trust placed in us and for the collaborative partnership on this special project.
